St Joseph Church is located at Costal part of Karnataka in Honnavar Taluk. The Church was one among the few early churches established in the coastal belt by the Franciscan priests around 60 years ago. The foundation for the new Church at Lower Kasarkod was laid on 1 May 1977 and the new Church was completed on 30 April 1979. A new house for the friars was constructed in 1990.With the Government aid for minorities and help from generous benefactors the sanctuary and the Church was renovated and blessed on 6th September 2017

 Earlier around 150 families were part of the parish and now the church has grown into a bigger family of around 300 plus families and around 1000 plus patrons. The church has given many priests and sisters to spread God’s message throughout the world.
